Es gibt keine Anzeichen dafür, dass Menschen mit Neurodermitis mit größerer Wahrscheinlichkeit COVID-19 entwickeln oder eine schwerere Form der Erkrankung erfahren, wenn sie ein Ekzem haben. Also bitte Ruhe bewahren und keine Panik.
Dr. Peter Lio, Assistenzprofessor für klinische Dermatologie und pädiatrische Dermatologie an der Northwestern University, sagt dazu: “Wir wissen im Moment nicht sicher, ob dies der Fall ist oder nicht. Das Coronavirus gelangt offenbar durch Atemtröpfchen von Husten und Niesen einer infizierten Person, in Mund, Nase und Atemwege von Personen in der Nähe. Daher scheint es unwahrscheinlich, dass eine geschädigte Hautbarriere das Risiko der Entwicklung von COVID-19 erhöht. Natürlich sind bakterielle Infektionen bei geschädigter Haut viel wahrscheinlicher, ebenso wie bestimmte Virusinfektionen wie das Herpes-Simplex-Virus (HSV), aber bei diesem (Coronavirus-)Typ von Atemwegsinfektionen besteht meines Erachtens kein signifikant erhöhtes Risiko.”
Es ist wichtig, dass Du die Medikation NUR auf Anraten Deines Arztes absetzt.
Dies hängt von mehreren Faktoren ab. Entscheidend sind unter anderem die Medikation, die Art der Dosis und ob Dein Ekzem durch die Medikation gut kontrollierbar ist sowie ob Du andere Komorbiditäten/Risikofaktoren hast.
Es liegen keine ausreichenden Daten vor, um festzustellen, ob eine biologische Behandlung das Risiko, sich mit COVID-19 anzustecken oder eine schwerere Infektion zu bekommen, verändert, da die Auswirkungen von Medikament zu Medikament unterschiedlich sein können.
Dr. Lio: “Die allgemeine Meinung scheint zu sein, dass bei Menschen mit einem immungeschwächten Status (und dazu gehören auch ältere Menschen im Allgemeinen, bei denen das Immunsystem nicht so robust ist wie bei jüngeren Patienten) die Risiken für COVID-19 größer sind. Ich habe jedoch den Eindruck, dass selbst bei schweren Ekzemen das Immunsystem zwar gestört, aber nicht wirklich beeinträchtigt ist. Tatsächlich betrachten wir es eher als eine übertriebene Immunreaktion als einen kompromittierten Zustand. Ein Ekzem allein ist also wahrscheinlich kein signifikanter Risikofaktor, um an COVID-19 zu erkranken oder einen schwereren Fall von COVID-19 zu haben.”
Timothy Berger, Dermatologe an der University of California aus San Francisco sagt dazu: “Wenn ein Patient mit Ekzem unter oraler Immunsuppression steht, besteht die Möglichkeit, dass er ein erhöhtes Risiko hat, obwohl dies nicht vollständig bekannt ist. Wenn jemand mit Ekzem folgende Medikamente einnimmt: Prednison, Cyclosporin, Methotrexat, Azathioprin (Imuran), Mycophenolat (Cellcept), sollte er alle Vorsichtsmaßnahmen treffen. Dazu zählt unter anderem, zu Hause zu bleiben, den zwischenmenschlichen Kontakt einzuschränken (keine Gruppen oder Menschenmengen) und unnötige Reisen zu vermeiden.
